Seeking EOIs – Senior Research Partner (0.4FTE)

 

The NSW Regional Cancer Research Network (NSWRCRN) is seeking Expressions of Interest for a Senior Research Partner (0.4FTE). This professional staff role will be central to building and maintaining a strong clinical cancer research program in collaboration with our Network Members located within the areas covered by our Network Footprint

 

The Senior Research Partner will work closely with the NSWRCRN Chief Investigator, Network Team, and large network of stakeholders to assist in the development of major and minor translational and clinical cancer research projects and research capacity building initiatives to ensure the Network’s research impact. 

In this role you will:

 

  • Be responsible for undertaking high-quality client focused research related activities with a diverse stakeholder base of clinicians and researchers from four local health districts across a range of projects and initiatives.
  • Be responsible for providing high-level support and comprehensive tailored advice to researchers across a range of projects and initiatives including, but not limited to, preparation of research proposals and project protocols, research budgets, funding applications, ethics applications and research materials.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, development and implementation of initiatives to support research capacity building and research project development across the NSWRCRN based on local stakeholder needs.
  • Establish processes and support services for NSWRCRN research projects, including monitoring progress and proactively resolving problems in collaboration with stakeholders and within the individual organisational frameworks of NSWRCRN partners.

 

For these roles, the NSWRCRN is looking for a combination of relevant qualifications, skills and experience to build on and complement the existing strengths of our team. Skills of interest include but are not limited to:

 

  • Research and/or health service administration and management
  • Study design and research methods
  • Clinical research, clinical trials and understanding of GCP
  • Clinical Research processes and terminology
  • Project protocol development and ethics submissions
  • Research project coordination/management
  • Quantitative/qualitative research data collection and analysis and use of data analytical tools (e.g. REDCap)
  • Knowledge of translational research methodologies and practices

 

The NSWRCRN Team are based at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) on the John Hunter Hospital Campus in Newcastle (Awabakal Land). However, this role can work remotely from anywhere within the geographical areas covered by our Partner LHDs.

 

About the Positions

  • 0.4FTE, 1-year fixed term position
  • Higher Education Worker Level 8 + 17% superannuation
