Funding opportunities

The NSW Regional Cancer Research Network provides access to targeted funding opportunities designed to strengthen regional cancer research capacity, collaboration and translation into practice.

Our funding schemes support a range of activities, from developing and refining research ideas, to enabling access to expertise, resources and opportunities that help regional researchers and consumers participate fully in cancer research.


Currently open funding opportunities

  • Regional Cancer Research Capacity Building Opportunity: Career Coaching
    Supporting eligible Network members to participate in a tailored one-on-one 90-minute career coaching session with E/Professor Kylie Ball, Founder of Indago Academy, to clarify career direction, navigate challenges and build research capability within the NSW cancer research ecosystem. 
  • ACORES 2026 Travel Grant 
    Supporting eligible Network members to attend ACORES – The Inaugural Australian Cardio-Oncology Research and Education Symposium (14–15 March 2026, Sydney).
  • Regional Open Access Publication Fee Grants
    Enabling regional cancer researchers to publish their work in open access journals and increase the visibility and impact of regional cancer research.
  • Professional Research Support Grants
    Providing access to specialised research expertise to strengthen study design, analysis, governance and grant readiness.

The Network has supported a broad range of funding schemes over time, reflecting the diverse needs of regional cancer researchers, clinicians and consumers.
